Getting started
Download instructions will appear here when the verified Android listing is available. Q messenger supports Android 8.0 and newer.
- Open Q messenger and follow the welcome screens.
- Accept Android’s request to make Q messenger your default SMS app.
- Allow message notifications. Contacts, microphone, and location remain optional and are requested only when you use those features.
- Open the inbox. Existing SMS and MMS conversations in Android’s system message storage should appear automatically.
Sending and receiving
A message will not send
- Confirm Q messenger is still Android’s default SMS app.
- Check that your SIM is active and has carrier service.
- Open Settings → Diagnostics and review Default SMS role, permissions, telephony, and SIM status.
- Tap a failed message to retry. Carrier outages or account restrictions may need help from your mobile provider.
New messages do not appear
Verify that Q messenger is the default SMS app and that SMS and MMS permissions are allowed. Restart the phone if Android changed the default role unexpectedly.
MMS, groups, and media
Picture messages and group conversations usually use MMS. Android’s platform MMS service may require mobile data even when Wi-Fi is connected. Q messenger itself deliberately has no internet permission.
Media will not download
Turn on mobile data, check MMS auto-download settings, and confirm the active SIM has a configured carrier APN.
Group replies arrive separately
Open Messaging & MMS settings and select Group MMS instead of Separate SMS.
Carrier size limits, roaming settings, and charges may apply to MMS.
Scheduled messages
The schedule screen shows whether Android allows exact alarms. With exact-alarm access, Q messenger can request the selected time. Without it, Android uses best-effort scheduling and may delay delivery to preserve battery.
- Keep Q messenger as the default SMS app until the message sends.
- Do not force-stop the app; Android suspends alarms for force-stopped apps.
- After restarting your phone, Q messenger restores pending schedules.
- Review failed schedules in the Scheduled screen, where they can be edited, retried, sent now, or cancelled.
Notifications
Open Q messenger → Settings → Notifications to see the current system status. If notifications are blocked, use “All notification options” to open Android’s app notification settings.
You can mute an individual conversation from its Details screen. Lock-screen privacy can hide message text while keeping a new-message notification visible.
Dual SIM
When Android reports two active SIMs, Q messenger shows the selected line in the composer and conversation details. Tap the SIM label to switch, or choose the SIM in the conversation’s Details screen.
If a SIM is missing, verify it in Android’s SIM settings and check Settings → Diagnostics. Availability and labels come from Android and your carrier.
Private diagnostics
Open Settings → Diagnostics to check the default SMS role, permissions, notifications, exact alarms, telephony, mobile data, and each active SIM.
“Copy diagnostics” creates a redacted text report for troubleshooting. It never includes message text, attachments, or full phone numbers. Q messenger does not send the report automatically—you choose where to paste it.

When reporting a problem, include your Android version, phone model, Q messenger version, the affected SIM count, and the redacted diagnostic report. Never include private message content.
